COMPONENTS - INSTALLATION DRAWING
The following manual does not contain details concerning the torque of bolts since no changes have been introduced.
- Disconnect the battery.
- Lift the car.
- Remove the mud shieid on the side of the timing chain assembly.
- Remove v-belts - 2 pieces.
- Undo the crankshaft nut (No 1) - NOTICE! Counter clockwise.
- Remove the crankshaft pulley.
- Undo the power steering / air conditioning pump crankshaft sprocket nut (No 2).
- Remove the power steering pump sprocket (No 23).
- Remove the v-belt sprockets support bracket.
- Undo the timing chain shield nuts - 16 pieces.
- Remove the timing chain shield (No 4).
- Remove the sprocket (No 18).
- Undo the oil pump.
- Undo the power steering vacuum pump.
- Undo the camshaft sprocket (No 21) nut.
- Remove the camshaft sprocket (No 21).
- Undo the injection pump sprocket (No 20) nut.
- Install the puller (by screwing the main pin into the sprocket thread) on the sprocket (No 20) and remove the sprocket.
- Undo the chain sliding pin nut (No 11).
- Remove the chain sliding pin.
- Remove the hydraulic chain tensioner (No 12) nuts - remove the tensioner.
- Install the puller on the main crankshaft sprocket - remove the sprocket (cool).
- lnstall the puller on brake assembly vacuum pump sprocket (No 17) - remove the sprocket (cool).
- Install the puller on the oil pump sprocket (No 19) - remove the sprocket (cool).
The initial activities involve the installation of the sprockets:
no17 - vacuum pump sprocket
no19 - oil pump sprocket
The main crankshaft sprocket (not shown on the installation drawing)
In order to correctly position the above mentioned sprockets it is necessary to warm them up to approximately 250°C (Ideally using an electric cooker, which enables to wann the component evenly When the sprocket reaches the required temperature, its colour changes from black into dark grey). Then position the sprocket.
NOTICE!
Sprocket No 17 has a backing off whose lower part is a surface determining the depth of the mounting on the vacuum pump shaft.
Sprocket No 19 must be mounted in such a way that the distance between the sprocket and the pump base is 1-2 mm.
The main crankshaft sprocket must be pressed down to the maximum, paying special attention to the alignment of the crankshaft marks with the sprocket. The mark must be positioned at 6 o'clock.
- Install the brake assembly vacuum pump.
- Install the hydraulic chain tensioner (No 12) along with the space washer (No 13) (from the set of bolts take bolt No 6 only - the rest remains unchanged).
- Place copper washers under bolts No 6 and 7 (No 7A) and oil feed (No 8).
- By means of bolt No 11 install the chain sliding pin (No 9) and spacing sleeve (No 10).
- Tighten the injection pump sprocket (No 20) - align the mark at 3 o'clock.
- Install the double chain (No 16); align the marks on the main shaft sprocket and injection pump sprocket.
- Install the timing shaft sprocket (No 21); align the mark at 11 o'clock.
NOTICE! The bolt threads for the sprocket mounting (No 21) must be:
- - degreased
- - covered with a protection layer preventing the undoing of threads
- suggested products::
LOCTITE 7061 - DEGREASER
LOCTITE 262 - GLUE
- Install the oil pump.
- Place the drive sprocket (No 18) on the crankshaft.
- Install the chain shield using distance sleeves (No 27 and bolts No 29a and 29b).
- In the front cover (No 4) replace the simmering (No 3).
- Install the front cover (No 4) along with the cover distance seal (No 5). Use 16 bolts from the set.
- Install the crankshaft pulley (No 2). Tighten the crankshaft pulley nut as specified in notices in B7 in order to prevent incidental undoing.
- Remove the alternator - undo the alternator pulley nut.
- Install the alternator pulley (No 15) - tighten the nut.
- Install the alternator.
- Remove the liquid from the cooling assembly.
- Remove the engine cooling pump. NOTICE! Before the removal of the pump it is advisable to unscrew the oil filter and the oil filter base.
- Replace the pulley on the water pump (No 14) using new bolts - 3 pieces.
- Install the water pump along with the oil filter base and oil filter (a new one).
- Install the tensioner of cooling assembly pump v -belt using spacer sleeves (No 28) and new bolts - 2 pieces (No 30).
- Stretch the belt and tighten the tensioner bolts simultaneously.
- Undo the pins in the engine unit mounting the pulley base.
- Install new pins (No 26).
- Install the spacer washer (no 24) and the spacer sleeve (No 25).
- Tighten the v-belt pulley base.
- Tighten the power steering air conditioning pump pulley (No 23) using the special nut (No 22). Follow the instruction form notices in B7.
- Install the power steering pump and alternator v - drive belt.
- Make up the cooling assembly liquid.
- Make up engine oil.
NOTICE!
The above installation manual applies only to THE REPLACEMENT OF THE TIMING CHAIN UNIT WITH UNBROKEN CHAIN IN THE EVENT OF INSTALLATION IN THE ENGINE IN WHICH THE CHAIN HAS BEEN BROKEN ADDITIONAL STEPS NOT DESCRIBED ABOVE ARE NECESSARY:
THE OIL PRESURE IN LUBRICATION SYSTEM MUST HAVE MIN. 0,11 MPA. WHEN THE ENGINE IS WARMED UP.
- Remove the oil sump
- Remove the broken chain parts
